Léobar: 70 wines, cocktails and a hidden terrace

Léobar, the wine and cocktail bar in Strasbourg

The verdict

Léobar looks like nothing else in the centre: eccentric decor covered in feline motifs, a list of around 70 wines with a large share of biodynamic bottles (organic farming worked to a lunar calendar), well-built cocktails, and non-stop service that makes it the perfect refuge between the usual eating and drinking slots. The local press has followed the address since it opened in 2023.

What to drink

The by-the-glass list starts affordably and climbs, for the big occasions, all the way to exceptional bottles. The cocktails are not an alibi, they are the other half of the house. And the kitchen keeps up, with small plates that go well beyond nibbles.

Visiting tip

The terrace, set back from the pedestrian flow, is one of the pleasantest in the centre in fine weather: aim for late afternoon. The non-stop service is precious on a heavy sightseeing day, this being one of the few places in the centre where you can drink well in the middle of the afternoon or in the middle of the night.

Frequently asked questions

When is Léobar open?
It serves non-stop, from late morning until the small hours, which makes it one of the few bars in the centre where you can get a good glass at any time, from an afternoon aperitif to the last drink of the night. The exact times are in the box above.
What should I budget at Léobar?
Wine by the glass starts at the figure shown above, on a list of around 70 references with a strong biodynamic share. The cocktails sit in the normal range for a bar that mixes its own.
